The information on this page is applicable to all members enrolled in the Cigna Dental plan through YMCA Employee Benefits. This is a DPPO plan, which means you and/or your dependents can receive care from any licensed dentist you choose—although there is a higher benefit for some services when the provider is in-network. Employees and their families covered under our dental plan have access to full coverage, from cleanings and checkups to crowns. For questions or more information about any of these resources, please call the phone number listed on the back of your Dental ID card, or login to your account at myCigna.com.

Dental Health Topics
Getting to know your oral health is important for overall health. Research shows an association between gum disease and other health conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. Pregnant women with untreated gum disease may be at an increased risk for delivering preterm and/or low birth weight babies. Think cavities are just for kids? Think again. Many adults have untreated cavities (25% of those 20–44 years, 21% of those 45–64 years and 20% of those 65 years and older). And tooth decay (cavities) is the single most common chronic childhood disease – four times more common than asthma. When it comes to building healthy dental habits, it’s important to start early and stay consistent.
